At the moment, our in-app carbon offset projects are all verified tree planting, because they are the most affordable (US$10 per metric tonne of CO2), and trees actually reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
We are closely watching the development of other forms of offset, such as kelp farms, carbon sequestration, or greenhouse gas reduction schemes (such as carbon or methane capture). These projects are currently much more expensive (between US$50 - 300 per metric tonne), but we expect prices to come down as technology improves.
